Welcome to our Heritage Library

Explore rare recordings of local interest with community leaders, athletes, musicians, storytellers, poets, and drama groups et al.— lovingly digitised to preserve our community’s cultural memory.

Scroll through our library, use the menus or search keywords to discover and enjoy these echoes from our past.

Sincere thanks to Mayo County Council for kindly providing funding support for our 'Echoes Of Our Past’ heritage project under the Community Heritage Grant scheme 2025.

👇 Scroll through our collection to select the videos you want to watch and/or use the search function to filter through the recordings in our library. We are adding new recordings as they become available and resources allow for their digitisation, editing, grading and enhancing (where appropriate).

YOU TOO CAN Contribute to OUR Heritage Library

Do you have old VHS tapes, cassettes, or other recordings of local musicians, storytellers, poets, drama groups, or community events? We’d love to include them in the St Cormac’s Society Heritage Library.

To make it easy, we’ve created a simple template showing the information we need when you share recordings with us. Even small details — like a person’s name, the location, or the decade — help us preserve and catalogue the material properly so it can be searched and enjoyed by others.

👉 Download the Heritage Media Contribution Template (PDF)

By filling in as much as you can, you’ll be helping us safeguard the cultural memory of our community for generations to come.
